EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that can assist you in processing painful or stressful experiences from the past that continue to impact your life today.

Sometimes, even when you recognize that an event belongs to the past, your emotions or body might still react as if it's happening in the present. This can manifest as anxiety, panic, distressing memories, low self-worth, difficulty in trusting others, or strong reactions that you find hard to understand.

EMDR serves as a trauma-focused therapy that helps you navigate these experiences, reducing their emotional weight and the control they have over your life.

What Happens During EMDR?

In an EMDR session, I will guide you through a structured process utilizing eye movements or gentle alternating taps. Throughout this therapeutic journey, you will remain awake, aware, and in control.

It’s important to note that EMDR is not hypnosis, and there's no need for you to recount every detail of your experiences to engage effectively with this therapy.

Before diving into painful memories, we will take the necessary time to ensure you feel comfortable and equip you with strategies to manage difficult emotions. We will also proceed at a pace that is most suitable for you.

How Can EMDR Help?

EMDR can be particularly beneficial if you are dealing with past trauma, anxiety, panic, fears, low self-worth, or challenging experiences that continue to influence your relationships or daily life. As a trained therapist in EMDR, I integrate this evidence-based therapy with a compassionate and supportive approach tailored to your unique needs.

Unsure if EMDR is the right fit for you? That’s perfectly fine. We can discuss your current experiences and collaboratively determine whether this trauma-focused therapy might be a good option for you.
